Well, it seemed to be a pathing problem with FTP. The only way to solve it was illogical (I now have a subdirectory I shouldn't have needed), BUT it works.

Easy as pie

It's suppossed to be as "easy as pie" to create a blog, so how come I've just wasted the last two hours trying?
